1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of every government office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve them, conduct an official check, or file paperwork for a user.

It identifies official Gaston County custodians, including the Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also connect users with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

• Interfere with site availability or another person's access
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
• Use the content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
• Stalk, threaten, or harass anyone with information found here
• Violate federal, North Carolina, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this resource or a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. This rule is especially important for the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. G.S. 14-208.10 defines public registry disclosure, while the official registry warns that threats, stalking, intimidation, and harassment can be prosecuted. Public safety awareness never authorizes vigilante action or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit files, or background checks. Our advertising partners likewise do not offer tools here for FCRA-regulated screening. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

For a legally authorized purpose, obtain the proper official channel or an FCRA-compliant screening service.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Gaston County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expunction law applies to one person. Consult a licensed North Carolina attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All content is provided "as is." We make no promise that:

• The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
• The site will stay up and running without interruptions
• Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
• Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Gaston County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information found through either.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms, and disputes related to site use must be brought in courts located in North Carolina. The North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, governs records held by public agencies and does not make this private site a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A new version takes effect when posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected language will be adjusted only as far as necessary.
